Virus Protection

Postby Kelly Harris » November 2nd, 2010, 9:40 am

Hi everyone,

I just received a notice that my McAfee protection will expire in a couple of weeks and am wondering what everyone here uses, is there anything better out there than McAfee? I haven't had any problems on my system but my husband has on his and from the reviews that I've read it's not really that great.

Looking forward to your responses,

Kelly

Been using AVG for several years. Works great. They also have a free version.

I have been using Webroot Spysweeper with AntiVirus now for a number of years and am pleased with it. It works well and doesn't use up a lot of resources.

I use Avast. It's also a free product. My old computer repair man hooked me up with it and I haven't had any issues.

I use AVG - no problems and Bullguard - no Problems. Bullguard's subscription allows you to put it on 3 computers. This is my second subscription with Bullguard. I would have went with AVG again also but Bullguard expired first.

Speaking of viruses.... :E:

I received an email from a freind yesterday saying that there was a huge ugly virus being passed around that will eat up your harddrive pretty quickly  Supposedly, it has a 'hallmark card' attachment. Anyone know anything about this? :C:

Kerri, about 99% of those e-mail warnings are fake or urban legends. Some may have had a splinter of truth to them at one time, but completely outdated. Check SNOPES if you have any question on legitimacy.
