Etch not getting deep

Postby skrapg » April 23rd, 2015, 4:35 pm

I have both valves opened half way and seems to barely etch the glass. I am
using A.O. 150g, 45psi, 3/32 nozzle. Should I introduce more media ? air? and
if so what order? media first? I appreciate any insight

Hello!
Please take the time to introduce yourself in the Parlor.
The questions you are asking are simple to answer, but it helps a lot if we know to whom we are replying. You will find many friendly folks here, particularly if you introduce yourself.

Hello Jess,
I apologize for getting a lil ahead of myself.
My name is John from Baltimore, I do etchings on granite with a
electro stylus,(portraits ,wildlife etc.) I'm getting into the sandcarving side of things
and I seem to have all of the components that I need except for the practice and
knowledge lol.
I also have 2 paasche air erasers(gravity fed and pressure pot) experiencing same
sort of issues. can I use air erasers for halftone photos?

John-
More people will find your introduction if you make it in the Parlor.
Yes, an air eraser will work, but be slow.
Check out our video Tutorials [Here] for the pressure pot lowdown.

try adding a little more media. The size grit, psi, sounds fine.
Air Erasers are a slow go but they serve their purpose for small projects or wanting to add delicate lines, etc.
I have the Paache Air Eraser ... I don't know how any other ones work.
