Not a lucky week

Postby Coppers Lot » August 21st, 2010, 11:28 am

Wowsers what an unlucky week I have had.
My main computer (XP Pro) decided that no drivers were installed so I couldnt type, use the dvd players or anything.
Have tried my best to reclaim what I can but it looks like I will have to upgrade to windows 7 pro, but I dont know if my cutter or any of my old sodtware will work on it.
The computer came three years ago with xp pro preinstalled. No Windows disc. I cant find the recovery discs anywhere.

Then My new compressor stopped working ...yikes....it had blew a fuse so I will have to investigate the cause.

Then, i tried out my new mods to my pressure pot and found out to late that the reason I had just blown a piece of glass I was working on was b ecause the pot was putting out at 75psi. And the regulator has no adjustment valve.
Next purchase will be a decent regulator that allows for adjustment betwrrn 15-30 psi.

Thankfully I have been able to share a laptop so I can post this :D

Heres hoping no one else has been having a streak of bad luck.

[quote="Coppers Lot"] And the regulator has no adjustment valve.
With out an adjustment valve it can't regulate....so is it even a regulator?

Thankfully I have been able to share a laptop so I can post this :D
You can always just reinstall XP if you are worried W7 might not work. Should be easy enough to find a copy.....

I'll trade you your last weeks for mine.....

Poor Tony,

That IS a rough week! How about I send you a homemade chocolate cake and a pint of cold milk? Always works for me... Hmm, the UK... Well, it's the thought that counts, right? Smiles, Keeks

No send them to me :D

Followed ingas advice and bought a new regulator to replace the guage on the pot, modded the pot a bit too by changing the bottom "T" pice from a 3/8" unit to a 1/2" unit.

Borrowed a genuine copy of xp and after 2 days !!! got it to reformat my huge drive :( and now have a brand new clean copy of xp pro.
BUT....have yet to install a networlenumeraotr driver!!! and other stuff.

Borrowed the laptop again as you can see by the fact I posted.

Tony, I understood nothing between "send them to me" and "borrowed the laptop," but no matter! Sounds like things are looking up, and that's all good. Just in time for a nice weekend of blasting.
