Noisemaking Banners

Postby David Takes » August 4th, 2010, 7:16 pm

I will admit that I am not a fan of animated banners and emoticons, but I tolerate them. The noisemaking banners have crossed the line in my opinion and cause me to make my visits here less frequent and short. Do others here find those as annoying as I do, or am I on an island by myself? I would propose their use be discontinued.

David-
Fair is fair, and if you'll promise to participate more, I'll promise to set things so you do not get the sounds. This applies to anyone who is bothered by the audio. Fair enough?
If you simply send me a PM asking to opt out of the audio files, it will be done. David, you do not need to send a PM. I understand, and will rectify as soon as possible.

Someties folks have to try different things to see what works and what doesn't work so well, and I understand this. So for a bit of feedback, what I really love is the rotating display of projects accross the top of the page. :B: But If truth be told, I find the sound effects annoying as well. :x

I vote for the quiet banners also. :) I agree with Inga, I do like the rotating artwork being displayed.

Rich, I'm doing some investigation, it looks as if I might be able to read/write cookies from the flash file. If so, that will be a workable solution.

I agree with others who've posted -- I don't care for the sound effects but I love the rotating gallery of members' work. My two cents' worth!
My studio includes: Denver glass kiln, Skutt ceramics kiln, Jen-Ken kiln, compressor, sandblast setup, lap grinder, two ring saws, hand-held water-fed grinder, plotter, UV exposure unit. I work in glass, concrete, clay, metal, and stone.

Only thing I wish for with the random artwork display is to be able to click on one I want to see more closely by clicking on it to either go to the post or see an enlarged picture. I catch myself all the time clicking on one to get a better view and all it does is change the gallery to the next set of five pics.
