Need some input

Postby Terry W » May 15th, 2019, 6:35 am

Hey folks

Over the past few weeks, I have seen several of my favorite forums shut down. This has been due to a lack of participation from members (both new and old). I understand things have moved towards social media now.

I have seen other forums close up shop and all the data, links, pictures, contacts, tutorials etc have been lost to all.

AZGC is loaded with treasures for new and experienced carvers. Let's not let this treasure fall to the wayside like so many other forums have over the last few years.

Drop in, say hi, tell us what you're working on. Just about anything to start participation from others. The big search engines push searches back further and further with little or no participation so it gets harder and harder for folks to find AZGC.

SO true..participation has fallen an almost all forums, lack or time, lack of control, lack of time..mine falls in that last category, we have knocked off close to 5 months off our waiting back log, new equipment, more people etc. and I need to post more but I am almost always here looking and checking.

I checked the facebook stuff for sandblasting. A huge time waste for me.
Definitely not an easy format to follow.

Also hate to see these good forums slowing down like this. I don't know where people have gone. I'm
not on the computer much but have checked a few of the forums - most seem to be slow or gone. Sad. These
forums have been a very good source of information as well as relationships for a lot of people over the years.

Any ideas on how to keep this forum up and vibrant?

I agree. It will be a shame if this forum discontinues. I've learnt so much from others when I'm stuck and need help.

It would be great if we could have more input from forum members than jokes :)

I don't know what to say about it anymore. I love this forum and have been a member since day one and it breaks my heart to see people vanishing. Even the majority of our regulars are gone. I agree that Facebook can be a pain but Zuckerberg is really pushing Groups to entice even more people. Just a thought Jess, have you tried sending out a mass email? To remind people that we're still here?

hello everyone! As someone else said, time is a factor for the forum. I do check in once or twice just to see what is hot and what is not. I have not been one to drop in and just steal ideas or some of the graphics in that area. I have my own ideas and slanted spin on ideas. I would do a lot more but my Stika and Cutstudio (Roland) have corrupt graphic files. My cutters are fine but the graphics are a hit an miss. A while back I mentioned working on some items related to marijuana. Wow, some were upset and said they would not go there. That is your choice. Well, I did and it has really turned out great. I am limited to a few graphics because of the file problem but mainly the words are still working very well. I will continue to drop in once in awhile but just keep in mind the option of the "taboo" of you know what. I would hate to see the forum take a nose dive due to lack of interest. Peace
